The Mercer County Historical Society (MCHS) & Museum is the central hub for
exploring the history of Mercer County, PA. Visit our facility today!

Mission Statement:
The mission of the MCHS is to collect and preserve artifacts, manuscripts, published materials and records relating to Mercer County history and to use these to increase public awareness and appreciation for Mercer County's heritage.

The Society will strive to provide and promote educational opportunities connected with Mercer County history through its museum, library and archives, living history programs, oral history project, publications program, and historic sites and buildings.

Our genealogical reference library is the largest in Mercer County, PA.
The MCHS & Museum was founded in 1946, and incorporated in 1947 by caring citizens just like you.  We invite you to be a part of our ongoing mission.  The most impactful way to participate is to volunteer your time or by making a generous financial donation.

Donations can be given for general operating expenses, for historical building preservation, and for the care of specific treasures in our curated collection, such as our rare 1915 Twomby Car.
We are committed to using donated funds in the most efficient and responsible way possible.

Donations can be made in person, by mailing a check, or through the "donate"
button on the menu bar above.  We sincerely appreciate your generosity!
